Worship
The heart and soul of any church revolves around its worship experience. Hearing God’s word, receiving communion and praying and praising together refresh and energize God’s children of all ages. For the majority of the year, we offer two services on Sundays – 8:30 and 11:00. The 8:30 service is a traditional Lutheran service, utilizing a variety of liturgical resources to help draw us closer to God. Choirs, soloists and other special music enhance worship. The 11:00 service is a contemporary Christian service with a unique Lutheran approach. A contemporary praise ensemble leads the music. In the summer at Holy Cross, we offer a single worship service beginning at 9:30 a.m. All services last around one hour and communion is offered by intinction where worshippers receive a wafer to dip into a chalice of wine. Juice cups and gluten-free communion wafers also are available.
Children are welcome at worship but nursery care and the creative What’s Up? program are offered for parents who choose to have an option for their children.
Music is integral to the worship experience, complements the message and energizes all.
Sermons help worshippers apply the Word to daily situations. Our pastors are happy to share their sermon notes following the services upon request.
What Else is on Sunday?
Fellowship and/or adult education follows the service. The coffee pot is always on (with options for the kids and others), presenting a perfect time to connect with our Christian brothers and sisters.
