Our Staff

Jean Spyksma is director of music and has been at Holy Cross since January 2003. Prior
to that she served for five years as minister of music at First Presbyterian Church in Wheaton
and nine years as director of music ministry at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hinsdale. She has
studied organ with Richard Enright at Northwestern University and Edward Mondello at
Rockefeller Chapel at the University of Chicago. 

Jennifer Atwood joined Holy Cross as youth director in September 2007. She has worked in a diverse range of ministries with high school and middle school students in church and church camp programs, college adults inside a national park and has been involved in various children's programs. She grew up in Seattle, Wash., went to school in Princeton, N.J. and just moved to Wheaton from Stuttgart, Germany! Some things she enjoys outside of church are ice cream, Ultimate Frisbee, date nights with her husband and traveling.

Jay Peterson serves as Holy Cross’ worship leader at the 11:00 service on Sunday mornings, playing the guitar and piano, and leading the praise team and congregation in song. He also works with middle school and high school students to engage them in worship. In addition to his work in music, Jay holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work and works with secondary school-age students.

Lyn Rowley, parish secretary, has served Holy Cross since 1997. It is Lyn’s voice you will hear when calling the church on weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. She is an active leader and facilitator of Cyrus Ministries International located in Big Rock.
